Embrace the Spotlight is a confidence building program. There are two workshop focuses: Public Speaking and Networking Tools. These are two separate workshops but can be combined if desired.
Presenting a project to colleagues, sharing research findings to a class or delivering a speech at a wedding; pubic speaking is part of life whether we like it or not. Many of us can avoid it but most will have to do it at some point or another. For some people, public speaking comes easily and naturally, while others find it absolutely terrifying. Whether you want tips on how to make it through a speech without having a panic attack or if you just want to develop your public speaking skills, Rachel offers workshops that cater to individual needs.
Part 1 of the Public Speaking Workshop focuses on developing public speaking skills and boosting confidence. Participants have the opportunity to receive private coaching to develop skills based on individual needs. Rachel will use theatre techniques to help participants learn to carry their voices in the space and how to remain grounded and balanced while demanding the attention of the room. She will provide tips on overcoming stage fright and advice on how to be as prepared as possible before your big speech.
Part 2 allows participants the opportunity to speak in front of a room full of strangers. This will provide participants a platform to put their new skills into practice.
Mingling in a room full of friends is one thing but to mingle in a room full of colleagues, potential employers or even potential customers is entirely different. Sometimes even striking up a conversation during lunch break can be nerve wracking. The anxiety that can be caused by networking situations is very familiar to Rachel. She has learned to overcome her nerves in these situations and wants to help others to overcome theirs.
The workshop will begin with a presentation developed by Rachel. It will include some ideas about why we feel this anxiety and tips on how we can overcome it. The presentation will be followed by a networking scenario where participants will get the chance to try out some of the tips they learned.
Details on how the workshops are organized are flexible. If you or your company is interested in these workshops please contact Rachel at firstname.lastname@example.org
